How do You Know When You are Stressed?
There are a lot of ways stress can show up in your life. Some of the symptoms of being stressed are physical, such as sleep problems, body tension or pain, and changes in appetite, energy or motivation. Emotional symptoms can include anxiety, depression, irritability, and changes in confidence or compassion. Other symptoms may involve problems with paying attention, solving problems, being creative, or procrastinating.
Stress occurs with change. If you, or someone you know, is going through change in an area of life, such as a relationship, health, work, life transitions, or habits, then stress is very likely to be present.
You can learn to manage your stress. The 8-Week Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Course includes required attendance at Orientation, 8 weekly classes, and an All-Day Retreat scheduled for the weekend between Class 6 and Class 7. Throughout the course, your instructor will create a safe and supportive environment for this work and learning through:
- Guided instruction in MBSR™ mindfulness meditation practices
- Gently stretching and mindful yoga
- Group dialogue and discussions aimed at enhancing awareness in everyday life
