At Southwest Counseling and Mindfulness Center we provide long-term and short-term counseling for individuals, couples, groups and relationships. Accordingly, the duration of therapy is affected by the nature the clients’ concerns and what their goals are.

Most importantly therapy is tailored for each client. In our work together the focus is on modifying certain thought and behavior patterns. We help our clients identify and correct specific errors in what they are thinking that results in painful and negative feelings. And, as expected, if changes are made in the thinking process changes in emotions and behavior will follow.

For convenience, our regular business hours are 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Additionally, evening appointments are available on an as-needed basis to accommodate our clients.

Our standard fee is $90 for a 50-minute session. Payment is due at the time of the session. However, we can be flexible if you need other billing arrangements, so please ask. For example, one option is to spread out your payments over time by using a credit card.

Fees are based on the time we commit to work with you in session. Consequently, there is a charge for any scheduled session that is not canceled 24 hours in advance.

At Southwest Counseling and Mindfulness Center, our fee structure is substantially lower than prevailing rates in the area. This is due to our choosing to remain out of network with insurance companies. However, many of our clients file for insurance reimbursement. As such, we are happy to provide you with a simple billing statement.

While counseling may help you achieve a greater understanding of your personal goals and values, you may feel some discomfort, emotional strain or worse during treatment. Notably, this is a normal part of the change process. In addition, working with any counselor may lead to unexpected consequences. For example, you may choose to give up a job or leave a relationship rather than endure the emotional consequences of staying with it. And, this may cause discomfort in others that you may not have originally intended. We cannot guarantee benefits and particular outcomes.

Especially relevant, it is important that you feel that you are benefiting from our time together. So, if at any time, you feel that you are not getting what you want or need out of therapy, please discuss your concerns with your counselor. As there are many counseling resources available, we will assist you in finding other professionals for consultation.
