Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction™ Program – Early Fall

This eight-week Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction™ (MBSR™) program was developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn at the University of Massachusetts in 1979. MBSR™ is an evidence-based therapy with 30 years of validating research developed to support those with stress, anxiety, depression and chronic pain.
This program provides participants with the opportunity to consciously and systematically work with the challenges and demands of everyday life. Instructor Lucy Ziegler, LPC and Qualified Teacher of MBSR™ trained by the Center for Mindfulness at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, will create a safe and supportive environment for this work and learning through:
- Guided instruction in formal and informal Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction™ practices including Mindful Movement, Daily Practice, the Mind/Body Connection.
- Group dialogue and discussions about experiencing life and sensations with purposely focused attention, awareness and objective acknowledgment.
- Daily home assignments
- Home practice audio files and a home practice workbook
